Current image from my garage (Prius is parked in the lower left corner):

I’m starting to part out my poor old Prius v1.

It was totalled in a highway accident on 7th July 2002. In the accident, all components in front of the engine/motor/transaxle were destroyed (including bumper, radiators, headlights). Also (and that’s the reason why it was declared totalled) the structural elements (side rails) in the engine compartment have been compromised.

Despite the high initial speed of the accident (~77 mph, 123 km/h) the airbags didn't deploy, probably due to the fact that I hit the crash barrier sliding front/sideways, and the speed was already low enough at that moment since i stomped on the brakes right in the beginning. However, the car spinned a couple of times and the front bumper and parts were spread over the highway. Also the right front alloy wheel broke. But see for yourself in the Photos section...

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident!

Due to some legal and insurance troubles, which would arise if I were to repair the car, I’ve finally decided to part it out.

So, all parts you can reasonable think of, and which can be removed without welding, will get sold off.

Bascially, I will sell everything from the first prius, who ever was registered in austria to a private owner. There is no hard time limit - currently the  car is placed in a barn, without any direct weather influences (only collects dust). All required steps to protect sensitive parts (hv battery, air intake valve, oil pan, ...) have been taken.

For the exact details how to do this, please see the Procedure section.
