Gedeon Burkhard


Gedeon Burkhard decided as a little boy to become an actor. At the age of ten he got his first leading role in the ZDF-film "Tante Maria" (1979). Now he has many years of professional experience and acted in more than 30 films. Burkhard played also a role in two very successful movies: "Acting It Out (Little Sharks)" from Sönke Wortmann and in Katja van Garniers "Making Up" (1993).

His most important work as a child star was "Blut und Ehre - Jugend unter Hitler" (1980), a movie which won many awards and could be seen on the whole world. He also played in well known serials like "Der Fahnder" (1987), "Soko 5113" (1994), "The Octopus VII" (1994) and "Polizeiruf 110" (1996). His highlight was in 1997 as he took the place of his predecessor Tobias Moretti in the serial "Inspector Rex". About 250 actors from Germany and Austria tried to get this role but finally Burkhard got it. His partner, the dog, liked the dog-fancier from the first time on. From that time on Burkhard investigates with his new friend in the role of Inspector Alexander Brandtner. (more » [Filmography]). And Burkhard is as successful as his predecessor. The audience ratings proof that. About nine million people are watching the adventuers of Brandtner and Rex. The handsome actor has more female fans than Tobias Moretti.
