Über dieses Social

 

Glasscherben und verschüttete Getränke auf der Tanzfläche, dicke Luft durch

Zigarettenrauch, Raeggaton oder Discomusik anstatt Salsa, ……..

es gibt keinen Salsa-Tänzer der diese und ähnliche Situationen nicht kennt bzw. erlebt hat.

 

Das Strictly Salsa Social * ist eine nicht kommerzielle Veranstaltung und

wird organisiert um Salsatänzerinnen und –tänzern die Möglichkeit zu geben ihre Begeisterung

für diesen Tanz mit uns und anderen zu teilen, Erfahrungen auszutauschen und einfach

Spaß am Salsa tanzen und der Musik zu haben ohne sich über oben genannte Dinge

den Kopf zerbrechen zu müssen.

 

Als Vorbild dienen uns vor allem die in New York stattfindenden Salsa/Mambo Socials.

Besonders hervorzuheben das Jimmy Anton Social und das Mambofateegz Social

http://www.salsanycalendar.com . Das heißt, wir legen besonderen Wert auf die gespielte Musik

(Salsa/Mambo - bevorzugt Old School bzw. die Musik wie wir sie von internationalen Salsa Events

gewohnt sind), den Tanzboden und familiäre Atmosphäre

 

Aus der Vielfalt von Möglichkeiten (Stilen) Salsa zu tanzen liegt unser Schwerpunkt auf

Salsa NY/LA/PR-Style** (auch Crossbody-Style genannt) und ein bisschen Cha Cha weil

diese Kombination für uns am Besten harmoniert und wir es bei internationalen Salsa Events

besonders zu schätzen gelernt haben.

 

Begriffserklärung:

 

* "Social" als Kurzform für "Social-dance": wird in der Salsa Szene üblicherweise

das nicht choreographierte, nicht showmäßige Tanzen genannt.

 

** da sich die Musik und der Platzbedarf für "Crossbody-Style" und im Kreis getanzte Stile unterscheidet und

es in Wiener Latin Clubs viele Gelegenheiten gibt im Kreis getanzte Stile auszuleben, bieten wir mit unserer

Veranstaltung eine Alternative nur für jene Stile an, die uns am Herzen liegen.

 

 

 

About this Social

 

Glas pieces and spilled drinks on the dancefloor, bad air because of smoking,

Raeggaton or Disco sounds instead of Salsa, ……..

there is no salsa dancer not knowing or experiencing these or other situations.

 

The Strictly Salsa Social * is a non commercial event and is organized to give Salsa dancers the

opportunity to share their enthusiasm for this dance with us and others, share their experiences and

just having fun with dancing Salsa and the music without thinking of

upper mentioned points.

 

We´re following the examples of New York, especially the Jimmy Anton social and the Mambofateegz social

(Salsa/Mambo - preferred old school and the music we know from international Salsa events),

the dancefloor and a familiar atmosphere.

 

As there are many styles in dancing Salsa we focus on dancing Salsa NY/LA/PR-Style**

(also known as crossbody-style) and a little bit of Cha Cha because we appreciate these styles

and it is our opinion that the combinations fit harmonically.

 

 

Definitions:

 

* "Social" is the short version for "Social-dance": is usually used in the salsa scene for

   not choreographed, non show salsa dancing.

 

** as the music and the required space for "crossbody-style" differs from styles which are danced in circles and

as there are many Latin Clubs in Vienna where you can dance these styles our event offers an alternative

for all the styles we appreciate.
